The U-23 Brazilian team won't be defending their Olympic gold after getting eliminated by Argentina In the South American Olympics qualifier, on February 11, 2024.

Argentina attacker Luciano Gondou scored the winner for Argentina U-23, managed by Javier Mascherano.

Gondou headed into the net with a Valentine Barco's cross, which went past U-23 Brazil goalkeeper Mycael in the 78th minute of the match at the Brigido Iriate Stadium in Caracas.

The Brazilian team only needed a draw to qualify on the final day of the qualifiers, but they failed to capitalize on their chances.
