Buhari approves the renaming of Airports after prominent Nigerians

Muhammadu Buhari who is now the outgone president of Nigeria approved the renaming of 15 airports in Nigeria after some prominent figures in Nigeria.
This happened before he handed over to Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is now the president of the Republic of Nigeria.
The ministry of Aviation related a statement which was signed by the Head of Press and Public Affairs, Odutayo Oluseyi.
They mentioned the approval was given on Friday to rename 15 airports after these people.
The 15 airports include:

- Benin International Airport now named after Oba Akinzua ii
- Akure International Airport now named after Olumuyiwa Bernard Aliu
- Ibadan International Airport now Samuel Ladoke Akintola
- Ilorin International Airport now General Tunde Abdullahi Idiagbon
- Dutse International Airport now Muhammed Nuhu Sanusi
- Ebonyi International Airport Okadigbo now known as Chuba Wilberforce
- Kaduna International Airport after Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina
- Maiduguri International Airport after President Muhammadu Buhari
- Gombe International Airport renamed after Brigadier Zakari Maimalari.
- Makurdi International Airport renamed after Joseph Sarwuan Tarka
- Minna International Airport now known as Mall. Abubakar Imam
- Nasarrawa International Airport after Sheikh Usman Danfodio
- Yola International Airport now known as Lamido Aliyu Mustapha Airport.
- Osubi International Airport after Alfred Diete Spiff
- Port Harcourt International Airport now known as Obafemi Jeremiah Awolowo
