The Nigeria Customs Service seized 15 trucks fully loaded with food items being smuggled out of the country through the Sokoto State border on Sunday.
This is coming after the FG said it will not resort to food importation or control the prices of commodities despite the high cost of living in the country.
Recall that the FG set up a committee last week to investigate food items hoarders across the country. Though the customs didn't give out the details of the food items, they have been returned to Nigeria. The Customs Service said the food items will not only be seized but be consumed locally to aid the stability of food prices in the market.
