The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) delegates met with the ousted president of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum yesterday.

The delegates were led by former Nigerian head of state Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto alongside other West African chiefs.
Recall that the military junta held Bazoum and his family in detention without electricity since the coup on July 26.
The delegates who were with him yesterday said he was in good spirits despite the current situation surrounding his government.
However, the regional body said they were in Niger to have peace talks with the military leaders one last time before resorting to military intervention.
They said a date has been agreed upon for possible military action but it will remain undisclosed.
