EFCC arrests 40 suspected internet fraudsters in Warri

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters in Warri, Delta State recently. They arrested these men on Friday September 8, 2023 in Delta state. This arrest came after the operation they carried out on receiving intelligence reports.
It was the operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC who arrested them. The spokesperson of the commission, Mr Wilson Uwujaren released a statement recently. He revealed via this statement that these suspects were involved in various forms of online fraud, including romance scams, identity theft, phishing and money laundering etc.
He also revealed that these suspects will be charged to court as soon as the ongoing investigations are completed. He shared that the suspects had also given useful statements. He revealed that they recovered many items from these fraudsters including 8 exotic cars which include 1 Range Rover, 2 Toyota Venzas, 1 Mercedes-Benz C300, 1 Lexus EX 350, 1 Toyota Camry, 2 Lexus RX 350s and a Mercedes-Benz GLK. They also recovered some phones and laptops.
