Gunmen Attack Apostle Suleman’s Convoy, three policemen and four others killed in attack
Gunmen on Friday attacked Apostle Suleman’s Convoy on Friday along Benin-Auchi Road, Edo State
They killed three policemen during the attack and four others.
Apostle Johnson Suleman is the President, Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide.
Reports say that gunmen attacked the convoy when the Apostle was on his way within Edo State after having just returned from a foreign trip.
It was reported that the attackers opened fire and killed 7 people including 3 policemen.
Samuel Amune, who is the Apostle's lawyer, spoke on the issue and confirmed the incident. He mentioned that the Apostle had just returned from his trip to Tanzania for a program.
He said, “He was returning from a journey and he had almost gotten on the shores of Auchi when some assassins attacked him. Three of his police orderlies, among others died. He travelled before and just finished a programme in Tanzania day before yesterday.
“He was returning to Auchi when the gunmen attacked him along Sabingida down to the Warake area, and Auchi shares a direct boundary with Warake. So, he had passed Warake and was entering the boundaries of Auchi when the attack happened.”
Thankfully, the Apostle is safe. He spoke on the issue of the attack and mentioned that he escaped an assassination attempt on his life, and noted the lives that were lost.
One of the attackers was gunned down as police flooded the scene and one of the vehicles used was recovered.
Many people commented on the ordeal which took place. Dickson Osajie, a security expert also reacted by blaming the lack of security. He commented on the fact that this attack took place during the day.
