The Murtala Muhammed International Airport is the main international airport serving Lagos, Nigeria. It is one of the Largest and busiest airports in Africa and also serves as Nigeria's premier International gateway. The airport dates back to the colonial era, during the Second World War. Commissioned in 1978, it was renamed in honor of the late Nigerian Head of State, General Murtala Muhammed who died in 1976. The Muritala Muhammed is located in Ikeja, Lagos state, Nigeria and the airport offers various facilities including restrooms, a lobby, tourist information services, and parking spaces for customers.
