Headies organisers fail to announce winners of 13 categories at award show on Sunday
The Organisers of the Headies Awards failed to announce the winners of certain categories at the recent award show. They didn't announce the winners of 13 categories at the 16th headies awards which took place last Sunday.
The headies Awards was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, USA. Winners in some categories were announced but about 13 categories were not announced.
This shocked many people around the country as they began to wonder what could have gone wrong. None of the female categories was also presented on stage on Sunday and it was after the show that the remaining 13 categories were announced on social media.
They didn't announce categories like the Best Female Artiste, Best Recording of The Year, Songwriter of The Year, Best North African Artiste of The Year, Best RnB Single, Best Vocal Performance (Female), Best Central African Artiste of The Year, Headies Viewers’ Choice, Best East African Artiste of the Year, Best Southern African Artiste of The Year, Best International Artiste Of The Year, Best Alternative Album, and Best RnB Album.
The organisers didn’t give the reason why the show ended abruptly without announcing certain categories but some have speculated that it must have been due to time constraints.
