Health workers’ strike causes shutdown of federal teaching hospital in Ekiti

The health workers strike has affected the Federal Teaching hospital in Ekiti State as it has caused a shutdown.

The health workers under the Joint Health Sectors Union (JOHESU) embarked on a strike and this has led to this shutdown.

The patients in these hospitals have been thrown into a frenzy as some workers are on strike. People have been moving their sick away from the hospital due to this.

Doctors and nurses are there to treat patients but the other health workers are the ones in control of laboratories and files and records and these ones are on strike.

People have began to plead with the governor and those concerned to interview as they have been unable to receive treatment.

The strike which the health workers have embarked on is actually from the national body of their union not the state hospital. This strike was because the Federal government had not taken to their requests which jnlcudes the adjustment of the salary structure.

They have said until the government does something, they won't call it off.
