Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has pinpointed what the team lacks during their FA Cup third-round showdown with Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Jurgen Klopp Liverpool, a result that could have been in favor of the home team, but reverse was the case due to their lack of finishing in front of goal.

Ian Wright spotted the missing area and quickly took to social media to express his feelings by posting a picture of himself with the message; "We need a killer".

The England International shared his frustrations around Arsenal's needy finishing as they fell to another setback under Mikel Arteta.

The 60-year-old was present at the Emirates as his former side crashed out of the FA Cup in the third round, losing 2-0 to Liverpool despite producing a good performance.

The setback prompted frustration around the stadium, with the Gunners' slow attackers showing everyone that no prolific striker in the fold after back-to-back downfalls to Fulham and West Ham United.

The home team had 18 shots in the game, with just five on target, but failed to utilize their created chances.

Following the team's poor finish, Ian Wright posted a message on social media in the first half, insisting his side "needs a killer".

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz were among Arsenal players who had chances to score for their team in the game, while the Gunners were striving for a goal regularly in the first half.

Captain Martin Odegaard also hit the bar in the first half as coach Jurgen Klopp was relieved to go into the halftime interval level.

Arsenal have now scored just one goal from over the last three matches, and Mikel Arteta's side seem to have been halted going forward.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus' absence from the game due to injury added to the reasons why Arsenal struggled in front of goal.

The Brazilian International has scored just three goals in 15 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, with Eddie Nketiah benched for Havertz on Sunday.

Therefore, Arsenal may opt to move for a striker during the January transfer window and would be eager to do so if the right chance comes.

Arsenal fans cried out for a new striker:

Arsenal fans were left crying out for a new forward as their team struggled in front of goal once again against Liverpool.

The home team missed several incredible opportunities in a match they mostly dominated in the FA Cup third round.

A Jakub Kiwior own goal supported a Luis Diaz strike to secure the win for the visitors, who would have been happy to go into half-time level with the home side somehow not finding the back of the net in the first half.

However, Arsenal fans took to social media to call for a new striker, since it seems to be the only area where the London team are currently struggling.

One Arsenal fan took to social media to declare his frustration, he said; "Everything points out that we need a world-class striker".

Another added; "If it was clear to anyone before today, arsenal needs a goalscorer BIG TIME".

What's next for Arsenal?

The North London team would like to pick themselves up from their recent defeat and remain focused on the Premier League title race.

In addition, they'll face Crystal Palace in their next league game on Saturday, January 20.
