A Kenyan chef known as Maliha Mohammed has broken chef Hilda Baci's Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

The Kenyan chef Maliha already declared her intention in December 2022 to break the record set by Lata Tondon of India who cooked for 87 hours before Hilda Baci.
In May 2023, Hilda Baci broke Lata Tondon's record of 87 hours to set another record of 93 hours and 11 minutes which sealed her position as the new record holder.

Maliha Mohammed cooked for a total of 95 hours surpassing Hilda Baci's record of 93 minutes. Though the Guinness World Record are yet to confirm the record. It still remains unofficial till proven valid by the organization.
After the completion of the marathon, chef Maliha took to her Instagram page to thank her loyal fans for sticking with her through the process. She also posted photos of her well wishers who came from far and near to support her.
She wrote, "Yes, we did it! New world record holder for the longest home kitchen cooking marathon in town. Shukran for the support."
