Late Ondo State governor Rotimi Akeredolu's family announces date to pay last respects to the deceased governor.
The late governor passed away at age 67 in a German hospital on the 27th of December, 2023 after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer. After his death, his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as the new governor of Ondo State.
In a statement released by the Akeredolu family, it was announced that the late governor's burial ceremony would be held for seven days.
The burial arrangements will commence with a crusade on 15th February 2024 at MKO Abiola Democracy Park. Other arrangements such as candlelight procession, football friendly, service of songs, tribute, and wake-keep will follow. It will then be brought to a close with a Thanksgiving service that will be held at St. Andrews Church, Imola Street, Owo, Ondo State on 23rd February 2024.
Gov. Akeredolu is survived by his wife Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu and their four children, Akeredolu Jr, Teniola Akeredolu, Babajide Akeredolu, and Yejide Runsewe.
