Nigerian singer Olamide has revealed in an interview with Apple Music the reason why he signed artists like Fireboy and Asake to his record label YBNL.

He revealed that signing artists is his own little way of giving back to society. He feels a need to give back to young talented people who want to launch their musical career.
He mentioned that before he started signing artists to his label, he already had a lot of money that was more than he could spend.
Then, he decided to invest in the growth of upcoming artists in the industry because he believes that success is collective.
