Ex-Anambra governor, Peter Obi, has praised Atiku Abubakar for turning into the People's Democratic Party official applicant ahead of the 2023 general presidential race.
On Saturday, Atiku polled 371 votes to defeat his nearest challenger, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who received 237 votes.
Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President, came in third place with 70 votes.

Peter Obi reacted by praying for Atiku on his Twitter page.
"On behalf of my family, I genuinely congratulate my leader and my elder brother, @atiku, on his election as the @OfficialPDPNig's presidential flag bearer in 2023," he said.
"I pray that the Almighty God, who sees your goodness, blesses you now and forever."
