Just recently, news of a terrible fire accident at Onitsha Market spread like wildfire.
Several people were injured in the fire accident. There was a blast which was suspected to be a chemical explosion in the drug market, Ogbo Ogwu International Market, in Onitsha.
Peter Obi, one of the Presidential candidates for the 2023 General elections visited the scene of the incident and some of the victims affected.
From reports, 4 people have been feared dead from this fire, many injuries were recorded while goods and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed completely in the part of the market.
The explosions cause a vibration and this lead to the collapse of some market buildings.
The firefighters worked together to control the fire.
Reports state that at least twelve persons were also said to have sustained injuries in the fire.
The fire, according to eyewitnesses in the area, started mid day around 12:45pm.
The explosion caused many to scamper for safety. In the midst of everyone running for safety, the building which collapsed trapped some people.
