Police prosecutor, Chukwu Agwu, told Justice Chukwuejekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court in Lagos, that policeman Jerry Ogunsakin, defrauded a businessman, Esomonu Everest, of his #128M on November 15, 2022.
He further told the court that the defendant conspired with five other people to defraud the businessman after painting themselves as sellers of US dollars.
Despite the accusations against Ogunsakin for converting the #128m into personal use, he pleaded not guilty in court.
The police prosecutor, Agwu, requested a re-trial and urged the court to keep the defendant under watch. The request was accepted by Justice Chukwuejekwu Aneke who ordered that the defendant be kept in the Nigerian Correctional Centre.
The next trial will be on the 19th of July.
