Professor Adigun Agbaje who was Kidnapped has been released
The former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Adigun Agbaje, who was kidnapped recently had been released.
Professor Adigun Agbaje is a professor of Political Science, in the University of Ibadan and he was also the Academic deputy vice chancellor of the Universityof Ibadan.
The incident happened along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway just recently.
The professor was released a few hours ago. Another professor in the University of Ibadan, Professor Remi Aiyede, confirmed this news. He added that the victim was released a few hours ago and is presently undergoing medical checkup.
Professor Agbaje was on his way to Ibadan on Friday when the incident took place and the attackers blocked the way to carry out this activity.
The abductors contacted his family demanding 50 Million naira as ransom. He was not the only one who was abducted. There were others including students and they contacted the families of the others too.
Mrs Adebola Agbaje, who is the wife of Adigun Agbaje, the kidnapped professor, pleaded for the release of her husband after the kidnap. The news of the kidnap came as a shock to her. She expressed that it was traumatic.
