Kiekie got invited to Toke Makinwa's podcast and has been trending ever since. Nigerians have been arguing about a statement she made and she got some criticisms. What exactly did Kiekie say that sent the internet into an uproar?
She said that she is okay with splitting bills with her husband because she cannot live in a house and not pay rent. Like every other viral moment, some supported her view on marriage, while others opposed it.
Kiekie further said that she wouldn't be comfortable living with her husband without paying rent for fear of divorce. If that happens, she and her husband will have equal rights to share the belongings in the house as it belonged to both of them.
One of those who openly criticized Kiekie was Nollywood actress Uche Ebere. She had no problem with Kiekie saying she split bills with her husband but found it offensive when Kiekie said they would get to share the belongings in the house once they divorced. Actress Uche Ebere said, "So, she is in the marriage and having the mindset of divorce or separation anytime, which isn't suppose to be so. Build your home on positivity and that's it. God is the wheel."
