Mavins signee Boy Spyce was on the Tacha's The Big Friday Show on Cool FM last week and he had a lot to say about artistes who uses Twitter influencers to promote their music.

Tacha pointed out what singer Adekunle Gold said recently about fans having too much access to celebrities.
Then she went on to ask Boy Spyce about what annoys him about social media as an artist and this was his response.
"So this one is going to ruffle a lot of feathers but I don't mind. There's this thing that artists do and it pisses me off. If you're an artist and you don't have that belief in your heart that you're dope and talented, I don't see why you're making music.
I've noticed this thing where they go to pay Twitter influencers. They have this WhatsApp group so you can just go and drop 1 or 2m and tell them, #BoySpyce is dope."
He explained how much he dislikes this common strategy among artists to push their music because it is not authentic. He believes that paying many people to market your brand is a bad idea.

"They come and post an artist that he's dope and the next thing, the artist is trending. So I'll now start saying I'm dope because influencers of 20k or 10k followers on Twitter who cause violence say I'm dope."
He mentioned that influencers have tried it with him but he blocked all of them because he doesn't want anyone to use him for clout.
He said, "I'm confident in myself. The vision is too big to care about influencers validation. Artists should stop paying people to tell the world you're dope. Show them you're dope. Stop doing that because you want to gather attention to yourself and trend and gather attention to yourself. It's just BS."
According to Boy Spyce, using influencers to build one's brand doesn't last because once you stop trending, people forget about you and move to the next person.
"Tomorrow you ain't trending anymore. I'm not even seeing you on the trend table.
If I know I'm dope, I'm dope. If my father tells me I'm dope but I know I'm dope, I'm still dope.", He added.
