Few hours after Mohbad's death, a video of one of his recent interviews talking about how show promoters boycotted him resurfaced online.

Last month, the singer spoke to City FM Lagos about the challenges he had been facing as an artist ever since he left Naira Marley's record label.
The 27-year old artist said show promoters refused to book him for shows and he hasn't been able to perform at concerts because of his exit from Marlians Music.
He said whenever he is about to get a gig, he gets cut off instantly. He explained that the reason is because the show promoters always go through the label.
He said after they book him for shows and put a call through to Marlians Music if he will be available, the label will inform the promoters that he cannot perform because he isn't okay.
He expressed that he finds it unusual because he is fine and doing well for himself so he doesn't know why the label is pushing such a narrative about him not being well enough to perform.
