The West African regional bloc ECOWAS has once again sent a stern warning to Niger coup leaders that they will be left with no choice but to invade the country.

The ECOWAS defense chiefs had a meeting in Accra, Ghana yesterday and revealed that they're prepared to restore democratic power to the country.
Though the ECOWAS concluded last week that they will call for a dialogue to reach a conclusion, the body said they will leave no stone unturned and make sure that all mechanisms including military action, is applied.
Recall that the ECOWAS issued a 7-day ultimatum to the coup leaders to reinstall President Bazoum or face possible military intervention.
Germany has also called on the European Union (EU) to impose possible sanctions on the coup leaders following their refusal to back down.
