In January 2024, African players won't be available to represent their football clubs due to being selected to participate in the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
This is going to be a setback for clubs as they will play without some of their most important players for about a month.
The tournament starts on January 13, 2024, and ends on February 11, 2024. The invited players have already parked their bags to represent their national team in Ivory Coast.

1. Ligue 1
The French League will be without 56 players when the African Cup of Nations starts on January 14, 2024. Out of these 56 players, Paris Saint-Germain won't have Achraf Hakimi at the right back.
It is the league with the highest number of African players when compared to other leagues.
2. The Premier League
The England League will be without 30 players when the biggest tournament in Africa starts on January 13, 2024.
Out of the 30 players that will miss Premier League action, Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah, and Aston Villa's Bertrand Traore won't be available for Unai Emery's side.
Nottingham Forest are set to lose six players throughout the AFCON campaign.
