Abuja court sacks Labour Party chair and some others
Abuja court has ordered that the Labour Party chair, Julius Abure, cease from being the chairman of the Labour Party.
It was the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja who gave this directives on Wednesday April 5, 2023.
He and some others including the National Secretary, Mr Umar Farouk Ibrahim and the Treasurer, Oluchi Opara and the National Organising Secretary, Clement Ojukwu, were barred over alleged forgery.
Recall that not too long ago, one of the wards of the Labour Party in the Edo State chapter had suspended Mr Abure over some activities which are termed anti-party.
There have also been many allegations placed against him in the court. This information of these allegations was mentioned by the ward chairman, Martins Osigbemhe.
He said Mr Abure was suspended by the executive until they determine these cases against him in court.
Farouk Umar claimed these suspensions were illegal.
The Justice has ordered that these defendants be restrained from parading themselves in their posts as the National Chairman, National Secretary, National Treasurer and National Organising Secretary.
The chairman of the Labour Party in Bayelsa state, Eneyi Zidongha, mentioned that this issue isn't good for the Labour Party.
