Singer Adekunle Gold and Obafemi Awolowo University students exchange words after Adekunle warned artists against performing at the institution.
He said he was harassed the day he performed at the institution and had to flee the event. Afterward, some set of students came to his hotel and requested a refund of #150,000 out of the #300,000 they paid for the show. "They followed me to my hotel to get half of their 300k that they paid me back. I had one song! ONE!" he added.

When Instablog saw the word exchanges, the blog handlers wrote a headline that claimed Adekunle Gold delivered a poor performance at OAU. Immediately the singer saw it, he corrected them by saying, "Poor what?! I had Just one song out then (SADE), those fuckers knew it! they booked me! I prostrated for the students (No wham). I hyped the crowd up, performed Acapella, Sang the full song (SADE), Entered the crowd, Performed again. came back to the stage did the same thing again!"

Some OAU students pleaded with Adekunle to forget the past. One @zamosings told the singer to forgive the past, "But trust me, that was just an unfortunate event, rarely happens! OAU actually has one of the biggest music community in the whole Nigeria! No vex Egbon."
