Buhari set to commission 2nd Niger Bridge and other legacy projects today

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to commission/ inaugurate the 2nd Niger Bridge today, Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
The other legacy projects are the works which the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing completed in Nigeria. This includes the 2nd Niger Bridge.

These projects include 3 major Bridges, a road and 3 Federal Secretariats.
The Media Adviser to the President, Femi Adesina revealed in a statement yesterday that this event will be headlined by the Second Niger Bridge which was conceptualized in 2005.
He also revealed that In 2014, an attempt had been made to begin the project through Public Private Partnership (PPP) but it was futile.
The construction then began in the year 2016 and thus was with the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF).
The other Bridges to be commissioned today include the Loko-Oweto Bridge which is across River Benue and links Benue to Nasarawa State. Another Bridge is the Ikom Bridge in Cross River State.
For the Road construction, it was the Dual Carriage Expressway in Kano-Kaduna which is over 200 kilometers.
The 3 new Federal Secretariats being commissioned include the federal Secretariat at Akwa in Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State.
The second is the Federal Secretariat in Gusau, Zamfara State and the third is the Federal Secretariat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
