Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji condemns killings of monarchs and asks security agencies to fish out perpetrators with immediate action.
Recall that three traditional rulers, Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti in Oye LGA, Alara of Ara in Ikole LGA, and Elesun of Esun Ekiti in Ajoni LGA of Ekiti State, were attacked by herdsmen yesterday on their way returning from a meeting. Unfortunately, two were killed while the third ruler narrowly escaped.
Ekiti State governor Oyebanji stated that the death of the two monarchs is a sacrilege against the traditional institutions, a painful and unexpected occurrence because the State has been a peaceful one.
The Governor said he is confident that the security agencies will fish out the perpetrators with immediate effect and bring them to book. He warned all the perpetrators of evil to get ready because the government will go after them and hunt them down. He urged the residents to remain calm and maintain peace in their communities.
