Emefiele apologizes for failed electronic transactions.

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has tendered his apologies to Nigerians for the issue of failed electronic banking transactions.
Godwin Emefiele is a Nigerian politician and banker and he has been serving as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) since 2014.
Mr Godwin mentioned this after the monetary policy committee meeting that's held on Tuesday in Abuja.
There have been serious issues with banking transactions on bank apps, USSD and other transaction platforms. These problems have been occuring ever since the new Naira design policy.
It has been a hard time for Nigerians as there was no cash and then failure in banking transactions.
He mentioned that the management department of the apex’s bank payments system has made efforts to ensure that these electronic banking issues are resolved as soon as possible.
He mentioned that it was as a result of a downtime of online transactions which affected the banking industry.
He mentioned that the management system department will monitor the online payment platforms so that such downtime will quickly get resolved to ensure smooth transactions.
He then went ahead to praise fintech companies in Nigeria that have helped reduce workload on banks by ensuring smooth transactions.
