Two metal rods were used to pierce Miguel's back. These rods were connected to lines which lifted and suspended him in the air while he sang.
He got his back pierced on stage in the presence of fans and performed his song Rope singing, "I’m hanging onto nothing. I’m hanging from the
ceiling"
