The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized 64,863 kilograms of Nitrous oxide popularly known as laughing gas at Apapa seaport in Lagos and Imo State.

This came a day after the agency canceled the sales and use of nitrous oxide as a result of young people misusing it to get 'high'.

According to reports, two containers arrived at Apapa on Wednesday with the name MSKU 7626856 and MSKU 7689448 suspected to contain nitrous oxide were imported from China.

After a thorough check by the NDLEA and Customs Officers, a total of 522 cartons of Nitrous oxide which weighed 64,852 were seized and three people who were part of the trafficking were arrested immediately.
