Vice president Kashim Shettima and others pay visit to Jos after Christmas massacre
The Vice President of Nigeria alongside Chief of defense staff, and others have paid a visit to Jos after the recent tragic occurrence in some communities in Jos. Recall recently, there was a massacre of several people in Jos on Christmas eve. Some terrorists had launched an attack on 15 communities in Jos, Plateau state. these men destroyed a lot of properties, burn many houses, looted many farm products, and killed hundreds of people. This was indeed a sad incident for the residents of Jos. The incident left many people displaced from their homes.
The Vice President, who is Kashim Shettima, has now paid them a visit. He visited the internally displaced persons (IDPs) that were affected by this horrible attack. The attacks were launched on communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-ladi local government area in Plateau state. Kashim Shettima was accompanied by the chief of defense staff and the National security adviser who is Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Some other top government officials were also present there. The IDPs they visited was at Bokkos mini stadium.
He expressed his sadness over the attacks on these people and assured them that the federal government was coming to their aid. He revealed that the government is searching for the perpetuators of the crime and will bring them to justice. He also delivered the message from the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the people. He described the attack as a mindless and unfortunate killing and revealed that the government will not rest until they find the terrorists and end the security challenges in Plateau state.
