A family member of the Al-Kadriyar family has revealed that a sum of N55M ransom was paid to the kidnappers to bring the four sisters back home.
The five girls and their father were kidnapped by a group of bandits in their home in Abuja on 2nd January 2024. The father of the five girls was released by the bandits to go in search of a N60M ransom to get his daughters back.
Seeing that their father couldn't meet their demands, his eldest daughter Nabeeha, a final year student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, was killed by the bandits, and her corpse was sent home to the father. After spending 18 days in the kidnappers' den, the girls eventually reunited with their family on 20th January 2024.
In a recent interview, their uncle debunked the claims flying around that the army rescued the girls. He revealed that they paid a sum of N55M to rescue the girls from their abductors. According to their uncle, they were kidnapped in the Bwari area of Abuja and transported to Kajuru in Kaduna State where the bandits instructed them to pick up the girls.
He added that they only met the Army on their way to pick up the girls at Kajuru. Since they weren't familiar with the location, they asked for directions from the Army who put them in their vehicle and led them to Bwari, their place of residence.
